In the last week of October, ViCom members Lisa-Marie Krause, Frank Kügler and Alina Gregori attended the 12th international conference on multimodality. The conference covered a broad range of perspectives on multimodality, moving beyond linguistics to social semiotics, media and culture sciences. The conference, which took place in the city of Groningen, offered a great opportunity to represent ViCom in front of a new audience and to receive new input for our projects.

We presented ViCom-related work in three presentations:
- Lisa-Marie Krause & Oliver Herbort (project Pointing Uncertainty): Subjective Uncertainty in Pointing
- Frank Kügler & Alina Gregori (MultIS): Tight temporal alignment of prosodic and gestural cues in the marking of focus
- Alina Gregori, Susanne Fuchs & Bodo Winter (ViCom STC): Rescheduling a meeting using gesture – on multimodal disambiguation
