On 27 May 2024, our ViCom Principle Investigator Silva Ladewig was invited to give a talk entitled “Patterns in Motion: Forms, Functions, and Stabilization in Recurrent Gestures” as part of the CCLS lecture series at the Cologne Center of Language Sciences at the University of Cologne.
Her lecture focused on the stabilisation of gestures, especially recurring gestures that occur in the same form and meaning in different communicative contexts and with different speakers.
