ViCom members and affiliates are warmly invited to contribute to a forthcoming open access volume on:
“Behavioromics: Semantic, Experimental, and Computational Multimodal Interaction Studies”, edited by Andy Lücking and Alexander Mehler.
The volume builds on a successful series of conferences and publications, including a widely viewed Research Topic in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence
The goal of the book is to provide a comprehensive overview of current research on multimodal interaction from a broad range of perspectives, including but not limited to:
• linguistics of gestures
• multimodal generative AI
• corpus-based methods for multimodal communication
• multimodal dialog semantics
• predictive multimodal computing
• HCI and HRI (e.g., social robot interaction)
• automatic multimodal annotation
• cognitive and theoretical perspectives on multimodality
• virtual/augmented reality and simulation-based learning
• (big) multimodal data
• notions and theories of multimodality
• logics of multimodality
Conceptual contributions are especially welcome.
The volume will be published open access with Logos Verlag and will be produced as an ecological book (“Ökobuch”) using sustainable materials and low-emission printing.
Details:
• Submission length: ~20 pages (based on a LaTeX template to be provided)
• Planned publication: by the end of September 2025
• Manuscript submissions: please get in touch with the editors directly
We encourage all ViCom members to consider submitting a contribution. If you have previously presented at a Behavioromics conference, you are also welcome to submit an extended version of your work.
