Practical Information

Prepare your stay

Conference venue

Goethe Universität Frankfurt, Campus Westend
IG-Farben-Haus
Norbert-Wollheim-Platz 1
60323 Frankfurt am Main

The conference takes place in the IG-Farben-Haus (No. 1 on the map below), Goethe University’s main building.

The registration desk will be in the foyer of the building. You cannot miss it.

All sessions take place on the ground floor, near the foyer, and are signposted.

How to get to the venue by public transport?

For directions how to get to campus, please check here.

For directions via Google Maps, please check here.

We recommend that you use a mobile app to plan your journeys around Frankfurt. RMVgo is the simplest app. You can search for the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. In the app, you will find a selection of tickets. We recommend buying either multiple day tickets (possible without registration) or a weekly ticket (requires online registration at meinRMV).

Printed day tickets can also be bought from ticket machines at all stations for regional transport as well as S-Bahn (suburban train) and U-Bahn (underground train) stations. If there is no ticket machine at a bus stop, passengers can also buy a ticket on the bus from the driving staff. It is very difficult to buy printed weekly tickets as you need a special card for this. We recommend buying them in the app.

Information for poster presenters

General information

The main session of SuB30 will include two poster sessions. Each of the special sessions will also feature a poster session. All poster presentations—main session and special sessions—will be published as regular papers in the proceedings. Prior to the sessions, presenters will give a brief lightning round presentation. However, only poster presenters in the main session will give a brief lightning talk (3 minutes).  There will be no lightning talks in the special sessions.

We’re pleased to offer an optional poster printing service that can be added during registration for €25 per poster. All poster presenters who book this service will be contacted by us closer to the conference.
Those using the service must submit their poster by Wednesday, September 17, 23:59 CEST (an upload link has been sent around via email). We will take care of printing and will hang the poster for the respective session.

Poster format: DIN A0, portrait orientation

Additional information for main session posters

An upload link for lightning-talk slides in PDF has also been sent by email. The deadline is Monday, September 22, 2025, 23:59 CEST. Lightning talks will take place after lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, in the session corresponding to your poster. Seats in the first row will be reserved for presenters, and talks will be ordered by surname.

Additional information for LingDem posters

For the interpreters of the LingDem session, please send a preliminary but near-final version of your poster as a PDF to sub30@vicom.info by Monday, September 15, 2025, 23:59 CEST.

Information for speakers

General information

Each talk is allocated 40 minutes (30 minutes presentation + 10 minutes discussion).

We will not provide printing for handouts. If you would like to distribute printed copies, please refer to the information under During the conference > Copy shops. Instead, you may also upload your handout to the shared folder provided via email; we will then make it available in the public SuB30 OSF repository.

Additional information for the main session + PhilLingNeg

We kindly ask you to use your own devices for your presentation. HDMI cables will be available in each room, but please bring any adapters you may need. If this is a problem for you, please contact us asap and no later than September 5, 2025

You may use videos, sound, or other effects during your talk, but please test these beforehand to ensure smooth delivery. We will be present in the rooms and available before each session for technical checks. We strongly encourage you to plug in and test your setup during a break before your session. If you need help, we are happy to assist during breaks.

Additional information for LingDem

For the LingDem session, we will use a central presentation laptop for all talks. Please send us your slides (a preliminary but near-final version is fine) for the interpreters in PDF format by September 15, 2025, 23:59 CEST to sub30@vicom.info.

If, for reasons of sound or video, you need to use another format, you must provide transcriptions for audio files and subtitles for video files.

We will be present in the room and available before each session for technical checks. We encourage you to test your setup during a break before your session (especially if you use videos or sound).

Copy shops

We can recommend two copy shops close to campus:

Copy am Campus
(open Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:30; Saturday, 9:00–14:00; Parkstraße 20; 3 minutes on foot from the venue).

Unicopy Frankfurt
(open Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00; Saturday, 10:00–16:00; Fürstenbergerstraße 168; 4 minutes on foot from the venue).

OSF repository

If you would like to make your handouts, slides, or posters publicly available, please upload them to this shared folder.

We will then take care of uploading them to the public SuB30 OSF repository on your behalf. This is entirely optional.

Internet access

Eduroam

If your university is participating in Eduroam, you can access the internet using your account from your home university.

guestGU

Goethe University has a new free WiFi with the network name guestGU. This Wi-Fi is intended for personal use on campus and offers students, staff and guests uncomplicated access to the internet. This is a very good alternative in case you do not have access to Eduroam.
