Johanna Deppe is an MA student in Linguistics at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. She previously completed a BA in Germanistik and English at the same institution. Her main research interests are multimodal communication and its integration into formal semantic theories. She is currently investigating how iconic depictions, such as gesture and emoji, interact with and constrain propositional meaning across modalities.
