PhD Candidate
Ece Yılmaz is a PhD Researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt and a doctoral student in the Department of Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) as part of a cotutelle doctoral project, “Co-speech Gestures and Prosody as Multimodal Markers of Information Structure,” funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and led by Prof. Dr. Frank Kügler and Prof. Dr. Pilar Prieto.
She holds BA and MA degrees in Psychology from Kadir Has University, Istanbul, Turkey. Her research focuses on the relationship between language, cognition, and multimodal communication. Her research interests include prosody, the production and perception of co-speech gestures, and speaker- and listener-related individual differences, with a particular focus on the role of spatial cognitive mechanisms underlying speech–gesture integration.
