On Saturday, 19 September 2026, ViCom took part in the Science Festival organized by the Frankfurt Alliance at Roßmarkt in Frankfurt am Main. With sunny weather and a lively atmosphere, we welcomed many visitors interested in discovering research on visual and multimodal communication.

The visitors had the opportunity to take part in two small experiments themselves. Many participants were curious to find out how gestures and other visual signals shape human communication. The experiments offered an engaging way to experience research first-hand and learn more about the questions behind our studies.

Throughout the afternoon, ViCom researchers were on hand to discuss the experiments and explain how visual communication contributes to communication beyond words alone. The many interested participants led to lively conversations about gestures, visual signals, and multimodal communication.

It was a great opportunity to share our research with a broad audience and to explore visual communication together with visitors of all ages.
