ViCom FEEDBACK at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Family Day at the University of Cologne

The ViCom project FEEDBACK – Visual Feedback in Dyadic Interaction: Cross-Linguistic, Cognitive, and Social Dynamics took part in the Family Day of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne with an interactive station dedicated to DGS (German Sign Language).

Children and families had the opportunity to explore DGS through a range of hands-on activities. Younger visitors could solve a puzzle featuring different DGS handshapes, while older children could take part in a DGS challenge. A particularly popular activity was creating their own names using the DGS fingerspelling alphabet with stickers.

The station attracted great interest and provided many opportunities to engage with children and parents about sign language, visual communication, and the diversity of human communication.
